Lenten and Easter Worship Services

Midweek Worship continues each Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. through April 5. This year's theme for Midweek Lenten Worship is "God's Unfailing Passion Promises."

Join us for fellowship and dinner prior to Lenten Midweek Worship services! Meals are served from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. with free will donations being accepted each week. Money raised through these donations, along with a matching grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, will be used to help fund various projects.

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday on April 9. The regular worship schedule will be followed on that day with services at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. During Holy Week, worship on Maundy Thursday, April 13, will take place at 7:00 p.m. Holy Communion will be celebrated and the traditional Stripping of the Altar will conclude the service.

Worship on Good Friday, April 14, will also take place at 12:00 p.m., when Communion will be celebrated and 7:00 p.m. The evening worship will be a Tenebrae service marked by the gradual dimming of the church and symbolizing the darkness that came over the land on Good Friday. There will be no Saturday evening worship on April 15.

Easter Sunday, April 16, two worship services will be conducted, one on-site at the church and the other at the Temple High School auditorium, located at 415 North 31st Street, Temple. The 8:00 a.m. service, held at the Church will be a traditional festival Easter celebration featuring the organ, brass and bells. The 10:00 a.m. service, "Who Am I?", will be held at Temple High.
